NYC Family

No, we do not have any "blood" family here in NYC.  No cousins to play with or Grandmas to babysit.  A lot of people ask me if it is hard to live across the country from our families and of course I reply YES because I love my family (and my in-laws) so so so much and would love to spend more time with them.  With that said, we have been adopted into a new family out here.  A family that spends days walking through Central Park, crowded in someone's tiny apartment for a play date, going on adventures in the city, throwing birthday parties and baby showers, making the trek to the beach, meeting at playgrounds just so we can chat about the latest happenings, and so many other activities.  We have made the best friends out here and they are truly our family.  A good chunk of our friends have had babies within the last year or so, therefore Scott has so many little friends.  There are so many people out here who love my little Scott and it makes me happy and grateful.  Thank you friends for making this crazy city home for us.  We are so happy and so blessed to spend our time with so many of you fabulous, talented people!  Here is a tribute to tiny friends!

We return to Boston

A few weeks ago we drove to Boston to meet up with Bryan's parents.  They came out here to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary and were so nice to let us join them for a few days!  Scott hasn't spent a lot of time in a car (just an occasional 5 minute taxi ride) so I was anxious to see how he would do.  He slept most of the time there and back, but when he was awake he hated not being able to see us.  I had to crawl in the back to play with him, but he was a rock star, like always.  Here are some highlights:

Bryan says to me "Scott is coming with me to return the luggage dolly"...I look over to find this:
It was all fun and games till he decided to roll right off the dolly flat on his face.  Luckily, he missed the wall.

View from the top of our hotel.

Splash pad right outside the hotel.

Reunited with Grandma!  Taken after a yummy lobster dinner.

Of course we had to catch a Red Sox game!  Fenway Park was amazing.

Thanks, Grandpa, for the baseball fun!

Grandma wanted a turn carrying Scott...welcome to my life.  Scott LIVES in that carrier.  It's so much easier to throw him in there than to deal with a stroller in the city.  We recently upgraded to a fancy Ergo with some back support for my aching back.  Love it!

I just love my little dude.  He is ALL BOY with so much energy and I am loving every second.  He's already got the Michael Jordan tongue down to go with his Jordan pimp suit... you should see him swing a bat!  I'll post a video soon.

On our lovely Sunday drive we randomly came across this beauty.
We had a great weekend, despite the fact that Scott picked up a little cold and would ONLY sleep in the hotel in my arms because he was so stuffed up and couldn't breathe...and he wouldn't let me lay down.  So I've learned how to sleep sitting up, with a dead arm from my chunk.  Love my in-laws!

Hawaii 2012

Our much anticipated Hawaii trip came and went in June.  It was everything I had hoped it would be.  Here is a quick recap of some of the highlights.
We made our way to Arizona, then planned to fly to Hawaii with Bryan's family.  We thought: with our parents close by, why not do a quick overnight getaway and leave Scott with Gma?  Awesome.  Definitely one advantage to living close to family that we don't get to enjoy.  So, I started pumping like crazy so my mom could feed Scott while we went and enjoyed an evening at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale.  With her freezer stocked with my yummy milk, I kissed my babe goodbye and left him for the first time since I've had him.  The resort was amazing and we had a great time.  Thanks mom for letting us feel like we were newlyweds again.

Unfortunately, this was the result of our little getaway haha.  Yes, we know how to party and I tend to get a little crazy at times.  Just kidding, I went to the ER the next day because I had something weird going on...long story short, I've been to several doctors and they are still trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with me.  Not exactly how I wanted to spend my time in AZ, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

So Scott had a blast spending the week with his 2 sweet cousins.  Oh how we miss them!  Scott is 3 months old in all these photos.

Now, on to the good stuff.  A week in Hawaii was too short.  I wanted to stay forever.

Our resort was so amazing.  We were right on the beach with a beautiful pool and hot tub.  Of course, the boys wasted no time putting together a bball game.

My baby LOVES the WATER.  He is a little fish and could spend hours in the pool, tub, ocean, shower, you name it.  He thinks it's so funny to be splashed in the face.

We spent an afternoon at Pearl Harbor.  Amazing.

I have the sweetest little boy.  He loves to smile, laugh and talk with me.  He is so cuddly and there aren't enough hours in the day to get in as much cuddling as I'd like.  He already has such a cute personality and is very animated.  I am so in love with my little buddy.

I'm not a huge shaved ice fan, but the island of Hawaii converted me.  This stuff was the bomb.  Ice cream in the bottom and the ice was so soft and yummy.  I scarfed mine, then was trying to get Bryan to let me finish his off.

We left the babe with the younger sisters and joined all the adults in a temple session.  The temple was beautiful and this was my first time going back since I had Scott...way too long to go without enjoying the peace of the temple.  I love the Spirit and I love the sweet experiences I have in the walls of the temple.

My little beach bum.

Buddy chillin in the stroller while we have a competitive family softball game.  Things got pretty heated.

Aunty Kelley is funny.

Love each of my sisters and my mother-in-law.  I'm truly blessed to have them.

Some football on the beach

Polynesian Cultural Center

We saw so many fish snorkeling, as well as 2 huge turtles.  It was so beautiful!

Nap time with Gma.

Some cliff jumping.  Sweet little Anne rocked it!

Front flip... show off :)

 Hike to a waterfall!

Even the 2 pregos made it to the waterfall.  The whole fam.

Thanks for a fantastic trip!  Scott was so fun and is already looking forward to the next time we go!  Love my little family and am feeling very blessed these days.  Life is good.

AZ trip #1

I haven't been on blogger for a couple months now and they totally changed things!  I'm always complaining about how annoying it is to make a new post, but it seems like they made it easier on people like me who don't like to sit for 2 hours just for a stupid blog post.  MAYBE I will be blogging a little more often now after I get used to the changes.  So much has gone on in the last few months and I have been loving every single second of it.  We have taken a few trips so I will start with the first trip to AZ back in April.  Sorry for the picture overload!  I'll try to keep it short.

We blessed my sweet little boy at our house in Mesa when he was 8 weeks old.  He was such a handsome little dude.  There was a span of a few weeks when his hair was straight orange.  It has since fallen out (except for an awesome mullet in the back) and is coming back in blonde...but it was fun to have a little orange haired baby while it lasted!  Makes me laugh.

Bryan gave such a wonderful blessing and Scott just stared at daddy the whole time.  Yes, dad's deep, loud voice is mesmerizing.

Great-grandparents!  Just missing G-ma Hall!
My mom and dad love their 3 grandkids.
Uncle Max with Scott in the football hold.
 Hall Fam

Chillin with friends and Scott's girlfriend, Ali.

Mom just macs on this cute face all day long.  Poor kid.

 Hayden, Scott, Rex.  Best buds.

Cousin Rex was such a good helper!  He loves baby Scott!

So the main reason we came to AZ was for my sister's wedding!  Congrats to Sarah and Mike!  The wedding was so beautiful!
My gorgeous sisters at the bachelorette party...

Pics from the wedding dinner...starting with my cutest little nephew.  Kid can down a huge glass of lemonade in 5 minutes.
